A professionally guided self-drive expedition designed to give you the freedom to discover Oman from behind the wheel, with expertly prepared vehicles, carefully planned routes and dedicated support throughout. Over 1,279 kilometres the paved roads give way to remote trails — mountain passes become wadis, rock turns to sand, and the desert reaches the ocean before the journey finishes deep inside Wahiba Sands.
Our route
Expedition Itinerary
A rhythm of adventure by day and comfort by night — here is how the expedition unfolds.

Day 01
Private airport transfer and a relaxed day to recover from travel. Depending on arrival, the program can include the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque, Old Muscat, the Muttrah Corniche and Souq, and an Omani dinner — followed by the full expedition briefing where the group and FOX ATVs team meet. Overnight at Kempinski Hotel Muscat.

Day 02
After final vehicle preparation the convoy leaves Al Jarda and climbs into Oman’s interior through Niqsi, Mazbar and Mihalah to Wadi Dayqah and Jabal Abyad. The machines stop at Wadi Al Arbiyeen for a hike and swim before continuing to the coast at Dhabab. Mountain trails, technical rocky terrain and dynamic off-road driving.
Drive ≈ 165 km

Day 03
From Dhabab and Fins the route climbs again toward Jabal Abyad and the remote landscape around Majlis Al Jinn, then drops through Halut toward Wadi Bani Khalid. Rock gives way to sand as the convoy enters Wahiba Sands and the night ends surrounded by dunes.
Drive ≈ 148 km

Day 04
Morning begins inside Wahiba, but today the convoy heads for the sea — fast, open rally-style sections through Falaj Al Mashayikh, Asilah and Al Dafah as the Arabian Sea approaches. The desert meets the coast, and beach sections carry the group to Al Ashkhara.
Drive ≈ 251 km

Day 05
One of the expedition’s longest stages, following a remote corridor where desert and Arabian Sea repeatedly meet — Khuwaimah, Qahid Bowl, Juweirah and Ras Al Ruways. After Mahout the sand turns white and the day ends among the extraordinary Sugar Dunes.
Drive ≈ 330 km

Day 06
The longest and final stage leaves the white dunes through Filim to the remarkable coast of Barr Al Hikman, then turns inland via Mahout and Wadi Al Sail for the last desert crossing. Wahiba appears again — this time as the finish — with the last kilometres driven through the dunes to the FOX ATVs Sand Hub at Al Rakah.
Drive ≈ 385 km

Day 07
A relaxed final morning before your private transfer to the airport.
Our experiences

The machines stop and the adventure continues on foot — a hike and swim in the turquoise pools of the Eastern Hajar.

One of Oman’s great desert landscapes — carve the golden dunes and camp surrounded by sand.

Extraordinary white dunes rising straight from the turquoise Arabian Sea.

Fast, flowing rally-style sections through gravel plains and sand — some of the expedition’s most exhilarating driving.

Shuwa, majboos and fresh seafood, dates and cardamom coffee served the traditional way, seated on carpets.

Vast coastal flats and shallow lagoons alive with flamingos, one of Oman’s most remarkable environments.

The Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque, Old Muscat and the Muttrah Souq before the engines start.
