The caravan piste — Telouet & the Ounila valley

Leave Marrakech and climb to Telouet and its Glaoui kasbah, where the briefing and first time on the machines take place. Into the erg — Erg Chigaga bivouac

Begin your introduction to dune driving at Erg Lihoudi, a stop in the shade of the tamarisks at the sacred oasis, then the great Erg Chigaga dune belt — 40 km of sand. Bivouac at the foot of the dunes, dinner and a night under the stars.

Heading west, the dunes gradually give way to gravel plains and rocky desert terrain, leading to Lake Iriki — the dried-out lake bed, a plain as far as you can see. Up towards the foothills of the Jbel Bani to Foum Zguid, the end of the driving, and the road back to Marrakech.
